| Who We Are: BOOKLINK DISTRIBUTION History:
BookLink began as a partnership between Sam Montgomery and Terry Hicks in 1982. The partnership evolved into a successful southeastern sales rep organization. On 1/1/07, that operation evolved into BookLink Distribution.
Philosophy:
BookLink's objective is to represent a small number of quality publishers and to grow with them. We focus on large national accounts and large independent bookstores. BookLink works to become an integral part of their sales and marketing department. The ultimate goal is to create a mutually beneficial relationship with each publisher. We become a partner with our publishers.
Management:
Sam Montgomery is a former commercial banker. He began his career in the book business in 1976 covering the southeast for George Scheer before joining with Terry Hicks to establish BookLink, Inc. He has worked in the book business for over 30 years, primarily as an independent sales representative, selling small and medium American, Canadian and UK publishers. He has sold national chains, regional and national wholesalers, library jobbers, independent bookstores and gift accounts.
Over the years, Sam has represented nearly 400 different publishers from every category with emphasis in the fields of art, academics, cookbook, fiction, humor, juvenile, legal, mass market, travel.
He was a founding member and the first president of National Association of Publishers Representatives (NAIPR).
Sam is also the grandfather to Campbell and twin girls, Grace and Madison. Renne, the newest granddaughter uses Sam's wife's maiden name. sam@thebooklink.com

She has also been in the book business for over 30 years with 6 years as a road rep covering a territory for BookLink from 1987 to 1993. Today, she is our finance Goddess, responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and finance. eve@thebooklink.com
Regan Hart first went to work for BookLink in 1987. In 2002, she rejoined us after a 14 year hiatus. She is married to a horseman from Scotland, and hit the ground running like it was all only yesterday. She handles our computer, order processing and operations. regan@thebooklink.com
BookLink owns its own downtown office. It maintains a fully equipped, 2500 square foot commercial office with a computer network (LAN) that is available 24-hours-a-day for telephone, fax or e-mail communications. Our warehouse is at the same address.
The office is professionally managed and maintained by Regan and Eve. We provide excellent support for our publishers and our accounts. We maintain an ongoing program of telemarketing for marketing opportunities, for fast moving books and for new account prospects. We are connected to Ingram's I-Page and provide instantaneous response to market research questions or to inventory management requests from our publishers. Our Web site is at www.thebooklink.com.

"To write books is easy, it requires only pen and ink and the ever-patient paper. To print books is a little more difficult because genius so often rejoices in illegible hand writing. To read books is more difficult still because of the tendency to go to sleep. But the most difficult task of all that a mortal man can embark on is to sell a book."
